Choosing a mushroom extract? The process matters. Every Hippy Hill tincture goes through two extraction methods and three filtration passes before it reaches your bottle.
2Extraction methods
Water + food-grade alcohol. Each has a purpose.
Water extraction helps draw out water-soluble mushroom compounds, including certain polysaccharides such as beta-glucans.
Food-grade alcohol extraction uses ethanol to draw out compounds that dissolve less readily in water, such as the triterpenes found in reishi.
Why use both? Different mushroom compounds dissolve in different liquids. Using both methods helps capture a broader range of compounds than relying on water alone. The compounds present vary by mushroom.
3Filtration passes
Refine the finished extract.
Three passes help remove remaining mushroom particles. It is an extra step of care in preparing the liquid that goes into your dropper bottle.
